Hey there, didn’t see you come in! It’s that time of year again where The Crown J voting process beings. For those unfamiliar the award is also called The Johnson Transcript Surging Star Award and is a reader voter award given to one wrestling personality 25 years-old or younger yet to make it to one of the top two United States promotions.
A list of eligible nominees has already been compiled, but if you don’t see a deserving wrestler listed that is what the month of December is for! Send me a message here to nominate a wrestler. Just be sure not to wait because voting goes live on January 1, 2015.
Also, for the third year in a row The Johnson Transcript will be giving out prizes to voters during voting month. In past years voting has taken place in August, but this year voting moves for good to January. If you have an idea for a prize…again e-mail me here.

In other site news I will formally hold off from announcing a return to daily updates, but December will be filled to the brim with content. I’ve been busting my backside to track down some of the best young independent talent today and conduct in-depth interviews with them. Heck, just yesterday alone I probably spent more hours in the day interview wrestlers than not. Their stories are engaging and these performers have careers full of promise. Expect a whopping three interviews per week with talent across the globe for the month of December!
Finally, I am opening the site up just a little bit. For the first time in months The Johnson Transcript is accepting new writers! To apply just send one to three writing sample(s) to dcj2112@columbia.edu.
