In the early 1990s while Japan was producing arguably the best women’s wrestling matches ever this was going on stateside. The onscreen graphics bill this match as a “Back Alley Street Brawl.” However, don’t let that fool you. The bout is actually an early evening gown match.

Judging by this match it is tough to argue that women’s wrestling hasn’t progressed since this even in the American big leagues where women are often booked as eye candy before haphazardly being thrown in the ring. As for the competitors themselves Tessa disappeared a while later without ever having a major run in a truly major promotion and Dirty White Girl likewise did little of note.
