Montel Vontavious Porter is one of those stars who could greatly benefit from NJPW. His mic skills have never been lacking, but his in-ring showings have been inconsistent at times. If he returns to the WWE or goes to TNA, hopefully his time at NJPW will pay off and he doesn’t get the Lord Tensai treatment. If he just stays in NJPW it would be interesting as well as having fairly big American names in NJPW opens up a lot of match possibilities.
In this match MVP is working with Toru Yano, who is way over the top and too cartoonish for my taste. Still, the fans in Pennsylvania are way into it and the bout does not overstay its welcome. Look for MVP’s tribute to Chris Benoit toward the end.
