The Bravado Brothers vs. The Hallstars
Today, The Bravado Brothers consisting of Lance Bravado and his brother, Harlem Bravado are a world traveled tag team, but back in 2010 they were thought of as just a couple of Ring of Honor (ROH) guys. Before wrestling extensively for Japan’s NOAH, or anywhere else abroad for that matter, the bros worked against another brother tag team The Hallstars composed of Ross Hall and James Hall at Vanguard Championship Wrestling (VCW).
At VCW Liberty Lottery 2010, The Hallstars had The Punker (not CM Punk) in their corner cheering them on, but this did not stop James from eating a leg lariat. Lance and Harlem show how well they gel early on by walloping James with a double Russian legsweep. Yet, James and Ross soon take charge with some double teaming of their own in particular focusing on Lance.
Although the majority of this match is high speed serious action, there is a little comedy thrown in. Given how much The Hallstars resemble The Rockers from the 1980’s WWF, it is funny that they purposely botch a double kip up just like Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty did when they reunited in 2005.
The Hall-Stars continue their assault with a double Angle slam that would make Kurt Angle act a fool if he was hit with it. Well, more of one anyway. After some fine tag team offense from James and Ross, Harlem gets the hot tag. Harlem opens The Bravado Brothers’ comeback by predictably delivering some strikes, but also executes a lovely belly-to-belly suplex on James.
For the finish, Lance and Harlem win after a kick to the head followed by a bridging German suplex.
