Bryan Danielson vs. Tommy End
Currently in WWE, Daniel Bryan doesn’t have a match planned for WWE WrestleMania 31. However, Bryan has made the best out of a dire situation before. Case in point on June 11, 2010 WWE announced that Daniel Bryan was released. Instead of sulking Bryan went back to using his birth name Bryan Danielson on the independent scene and less than a month later wrestled this match for Westside Xtreme Wrestling (WXW) against Tommy End at WXW AMBITION 1.
WXW AMBITION has gone onto become an annual event. At least part of what got WXW AMBITION off to a good start was that for the WXW AMBITION 1 Tournament, Danielson wrestled three matches in one night. His match with End has been offered up free on the WXW YouTube channel and is currently the most watched video on that channel of all time with over 39,000 views to date.
As for the dynamics of the match WXW promoted it as shoot style wrestling match. So it should come as no surprise that it starts with a handshake and a lot of the bout resembles an MMA fight. But don’t be mistaken, this isn’t a pure MMA fight. In fact, Tommy End starts the bout by taking a page from The Booty Man and nailing Danielson with a high knee. From there the narrative of the match shows End is capable of taking Bryan down, but every time it comes to a battle of mat wrestling, Danielson always comes out on top. Something tells me that at WrestleMania, Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar probably won’t have a similar story to their match.
At any rate Danielson wins the match after hitting End in the legs with two stiff kicks and End is unable to answer the 10 count.
