Recently, the folks over at Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW) have been gearing up for CZW Cage of Death XVI, which is now just a week away! To hype fans for the show some free matches have been uploaded to the CZW YouTube channel including the penultimate match from CZW Cage of Death XI: Drake Younger defending the CZW World Heavyweight Championship against Devon Moore.
Leading into this match Moore had been making Younger’s life a living hell by torturing his friends, Scotty Vortekz and OMG. The two had also fought at the CZW Fan Appreciation Night 2009 in a ladders and scaffolds match.
Moore starts off with some hard right hands to Younger’s face, but since Younger was the babyface with a grudge to settle this doesn’t last long. Soon Younger hits Moore in the head with an unprotected chair shot. This isn’t Younger’s only chair shot either, but Moore fires back by super kicking the chair into the hero’s face.
Along with the ultra violence, the two have some chances to showcase their athleticism including Moore delivering a sweet shooting star press from the apron to the floor.
Eventually, Younger throws a chair at Moore, but misses him and conveniently hits the referee. Well, I guess there have been less original ref bumps. Younger soon has Moore beat, but Drew Blood interferes on Moore’s behalf. Eddie Kingston evens up the odds and the bout is back to a level playing field.
With the fight back to just being Moore and Younger, Moore executes a burning hammer on a standing chair. Younger the busts out a Drake and bake from a table set up on the top rope.
For the finish Younger performs his Drake’s landing through a table.
