“Anti-Diva” Kaitlin Diemond vs. Skylar Rose
Crossfire Wrestling (CW) in Canada presented this match between “Anti-Diva” Kaitlin Diemond and Skylar Rose at CW Mayhem 2014 back in May. Although these wrestlers found their way to CW and are fairly young they have plenty of differences as well. While Rose only debuted in 2013, Diemond has been wrestling since 2005 after training with the likes of Gran Apache and Super Crazy, and she isn’t even the ripe old age of 25 yet!
Rose gets a heck of a reaction to start this bout while Diemond gets one fan who shouts, “Anti-Diva” at her. Being the heel, Diemond is also naturally the jealous type and blindsides Rose. Rose fights back and gets Diemond to retreat outside of the ring. Diemond is met with a back elbow when she comes back inside the squared circle. The larger Diemond eventually overpowers the smaller newcomer and hits a backbreaker, followed by a Russian legsweep and then tries to end it all with a camel clutch. Hold on! A camel clutch preceded by a Russian legsweep? Someone must have been a fan of The Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff duo.
The baby face comes back with giving Diemond a series of shots to the breadbasket. After some back and forth Diemond goes to the apron, but gets knocked off by a running forearm. From there I was left wondering why CW would continue to promote this match given what the ending looked to be. Diemond is on the ground and the bell rings as Rose tells the fans not to boo Diemond. It’s easy to get suckered by Diemond’s work, but this whole act is broken when Diemond attacks Rose from behind and the match is restarted. Gee, it would be a shame if Diemond put on that whole acting job without even scoring a win.
