Hey kiddies and kittens! Voting for The Johnson Transcript Surging Star Award for 2012 has finally begun. You can vote right here! In a way voting taking this long to get underway is a blessing. Since 2012 has been over for so long we can look back at all the great work wrestlers 25 and younger did that year, appreciate it and then vote on who we think surged aka did great in 2012!
Also, for you new readers, if you have no idea what The Crown J is then you can read all about it right here!
Voting will only be open until August 31 at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time at which point the winner of The Crown J can be named.
As mentioned previously unlike some other awards this one will have a physical trophy and a thorough attempt will be made for one of The Johnson Transcript staff to present the trophy to the winner.
Don’t wait until the last minute, vote today!

That is not the only bit of news this update brings! Today also marks the beginning of my limited series, “30 in 30.” For the first 30 days of August a new YouTube channel featuring wrestling will be discussed each day. Each piece will contain a link to the channel, some facts about the channel, an analysis of the channel and a full match from the channel with some insight into the match.
A significant thing about 30 in 30 is that each channel covered will have never been on The Johnson Transcript before! Or at least each channel will have appeared so rarely that even I don’t recall it. Some channels will be fairly popular, some will be obscure, some will be very active, some will be long dead, some will feature great stuff and others will be pure crap!
The first installment of 30 in 30 focusing on 2CW’s YouTube channel can be found here.

Along with these two big announcements, in the month of August, The Johnson Transcript will feature some more wrestling interviews, some wrestling clips outside of the 30 in 30 limited series and perhaps even some additions to the smooth runs and wrestling lists sections. After all the G1 Climax just started over at NJPW and there is plenty to write about that!
